Chocolate for breakfast? Yes, please! These creamy, dreamy chocolate steel cut oats on in your bowl in a hurry thanks to the Instant Pot.
Ingredients
- 2 large super ripe bananas, mashed
- 1 cup steel cut oats
- 1 1/2 cups oat milk (or your favorite plant milk)
- 1 1/2 cups water
- 3 Tbsp cacao powder (can use cocoa powder as a substitute)
- Pinch of pink sea salt
Toppings:
- Maple syrup
- Strawberries
- Dark chocolate
- Walnuts
- Almond butter
Instructions
- Combine the oats, plant milk, water, cacao and sea salt in the instant pot and stir well.
- Add the mashed bananas on the top of the mixture but do not stir in. Just let them hang out on top.
- Seal and cook on high pressure for 9 minutes.
- Vent to release pressure. Once pressure has been completely released. Remove lid and stir to mix in bananas.
- Serve as is or with toppings.
Enjoy!
Notes: The oats becomes thicker as they cool. To loosen them up (or reheat them) add 1 - 2 Tbsp plant milk until the desired consistency is reached.
