I’m an avid sports fan ya’ll. I grew up that way. My entire family loves a good game. But if I had to choose one sport to watch for the rest of my life, hands down it would be football. So obviously I’m excited that the Super Bowl is right around the corner.
One of the reasons I enjoy watching sports is that my family was always huddled around the TV together enjoying yummy food. Nothing goes better with football than some great game day grub. I’ve got some awesome Super Bowl worthy recipes that will please any crowd (even those that eat meat!).
Gumbo, Chili and Beans
Some of the best football is played in the bayou and we all know cajun food is incredible. Why not tailgate with these Vegan Red Beans and Rice and Game Time Gumbo?
- Vegan Cajun Red Beans & Rice
- Vegan Tailgate Gumbo
- Fiesta Black Beans
Like a mobile quarterback these Easy Fiesta Black Beans are versatile. Use them as a base for nachos or tacos or just eat them straight up as a dip. Super easy and super good.
Fall is chili season and this Slow Cooker Three Bean Chili is a touchdown AND a two point conversion.
Dips & Drinks
This Big Game Buffalo Chick’n Dip gives you all the buffalo wing flavor with none of the mess. Good eaten while hot but my family likes it even better cold.
Let’s be clear, THIS Fiesta Queso is a game changer.
Guacamole should be it’s own food group. I recently updated my recipe and made it magic. Salsa and guac go together like beer and football. This salsa recipe is as good as your local Mexican joint’s. And since we’re going the Mexican food route, why not make the only margarita recipe you need?
Cowboy Caviar is a the perfect dip for game day. It can also pinch hit as a salad or side dish (wrong sport I know, but you get the point).
Burgers & Fries
Burgers are a tailgate classic. These Sideline Sliders and Crispy Oven Fries are so good, you’ll forget your team is stinking up the field.
Dessert
And last but certainly not least, if you’re craving something sweet but want to keep it healthy, these Ann Arbor Apple Nachos do the trick. I mean who doesn’t love peanut butter and chocolate? They’ll help you finish the game strong.
Okay enough with the football puns, hope you enjoy these recipes!
